Stock I'm watching this month (June 2025):-

XYZ - Block Inc;

Sector: Financial
Market Cap: 39.97 Bil 
Price/Earnings: 15.77
Price/Book: 1.86
Return On Equity: 12.79% 
Return On Assets: 1.93%
Debt/Equity: 28.2%

Reasons to watch: XYZ was Afterpay (APT) initially and the company got taken over by Square January 2022. Square later on got renamed to Block in early 2025. Block is founded by Jack Dorsey and now serves as CEO and Chairman. Jack Dorsey is Bitcoin maxi and Block currently holds 8485 BTC on its balance sheet. Investing in XYZ is a bet on Bitcoin companies, which are not common in Australia. Currently Block is planning to enable $BTC lightning payments on its POS machines.  

Risk: Jack Dorsey's focus on BTC and decentralized finance has drawn some criticism. However, this is the reason that I invested in Block.

On... 2024

2025 marks the starting of the eight year of my investing. 2024 is a bumper year for me ( see below Figure ). My Net Worth broke All Time High in 2024 with a growth of 45% ( Largest growth so far ). The earlier part was pretty good and trending upwards until circa April 2024. It then started to dump and luckily reversed in December. ROI for my Portfolio is 7.9% ( ROI since Inception ). For the latest Portfolio Updates, see  Portfolio Updates .  In 2024, I started to include shorter term trades after listening to the 'Top Traders Unplugged' podcasts. They recommended diversifying across time frames to capture all possible upsides. The short term trades have a holding period of days to roughly a month. On... Crypto AI, NFT2.0?

AI seems to be the buzz word recently. Is this sector legit or are we in NFT2.0? NFT's were supposed to change the world in 2021, but sad to say that was a speculative bubble that popped within a year or so. Trading volumes peaked in January 2022 at about $17.6 billion, driven by hype around projects like Bored Ape Yacht Club and CryptoPunks. By September 2022, volumes had crashed roughly 97%, with average NFT prices dropping from $4,000 in early 2021 to under $1,500 by mid 2022. Fastforward to Q4 2024, something else exploded into the scene that caught my attention. Terminal Truth was released and it got the attention of Marc Andressen who funded it with some BTC. At around the same time was the Virtuals protocol explosion with AI agents such as Luna and AIXBT. So begins the AI space race, but I was not ready to dip my toe in yet.
